One of Atlanta's commercial rap radio stations, HOT 107.9 FM,  is releasing their morning show, the "A-Team", effective today.  Apparently they are to be replaced with comedian & syndicated morning radio show host Rickey Smiley.  More & more radio stations around the country are cutting their costs by bringing in syndicated programs.  It's due in large part to increased local radio competition, satellite radio, & less advertising revenue to keep these stations afloat.  Members of the "A-Team" Rashan Ali, Griff, Beyonce, Akini, & Emperor Searcy may be shuffling jobs within the station or may jump to other local stations altogether assuming they don't have any "non-compete" clauses in their contracts.

It's rumored by columnist Rodney Ho that Rashan will do mid-days & Searcy will go back to doing late afternoons but there is no word as to the directions of the remaining crew members & current air personalities currently holding those shifts.

Rickey Smiley's morning show is owned by Radio One & is currently broadcast in over 20 markets including Dallas & Miami.
