BarberShop Talk: Virginia rapper "Skillz" offers some good insight why music is suffering & lack of new talent developing
Posted by ATLstatus at 7:20 PMWe've heard this discussion over "50 eleven" times before in the barbershops & on the ball courts when the fellas get to talking about the state of the music industry & the lack of talented acts to come out as of late. Personally we here at ATLSTATUS don't feel that there's a lack of talented artists these days, it's just that there really isn't many people out here really pushing them.
Since most of us are deejays we find that we often have to search for good music & then put other people onto it especially if its worthwhile. After having this discussion again with a few fellas outside of Rocky's Barbershop in Buckhead on the corner of Piedmont & Sydney Marcus Blvd (Waddup Rocky!), I remembered a recent youtube video that pretty much hits the nail on the head as to one of the reasons why the music game is sort of messed up. Instantly I was reminded of this video with talented lyricist "Skillz" who has been representing for Virginia for years as an artist & ghostwriter for a host of big names. Check out what he has to say in this video as he has a discussion with a few friends why the music indusrty is sorta out of wack. We can't say we disagree with him & his observations.....
